Friends of ours who have made their way across. We love you
and miss you.

Boomer came into collie rescue because the man who adopted
him from the shelter found out he was allergic. He didn't
get along with cats very well and seemed like every application
we received was from families who had cats. Then an application
came from Florida with people who had fallen in love with
Boomer and everything seemed to fit. Took him in for a
simple surgery to have an umbilical hernia repaired. This
is where the mother dog cuts the cord too short and causes
an outie belly button. He threw a blood clot during the
surgery and never woke up. What a character he was, loved
his toys and always doing things to make you laugh. He
is over the bridge and I know still trying to catch his
shadow. |

Bruce came into rescue a senior citizen who had been
on a chain all his life. A very laid back, just happy
for the good life who followed you everywhere. Bruce has
seizures which became more and more frequent. He has crossed
the bridge and is happy sitting in the best chair ever.

Rachel was a senior collie taken to the shelter because
her people no longer wanted her. She was rescued and treated
for heartworms by Dr. Lindy. Maw Maw as we called her,
was an absolute joy to have, always making me laugh and
I will miss this old lady. Rachel, September 30, 2003 |

Lass and her brother were taken to the shelter at eleven
years old. Having always been outside dogs in a pen they
loved being in the house. She went peacefully in her sleep
September 19, 2003. |

Sassy was a senior collie who came into rescue. She
passed away due to complications during an operation to
remove a tumor from her gum. August 9, 2003 |

They have named me Chance because I have truly gotten
another chance at life and I hope this one will be better.
I was dumped in a water reservoir, put there to drown
and I just kept circling and circling until I got tired
and started to go under. Some nice men saw me and jumped
in a boat and came out to save me. I have been starved
to the point that several of my teeth have fallen out
due to malnutrition. So covered in flea feces that the
water from my fur ran blood red when in the bath. I am
a wonderful sweet guy who loves other dogs, cats and children.
Chance passed away in his sleep 9/16/03. |

J.D. was a senior deaf collie left at the shelter by
his people. Some very kind folks took him in to let him
live out his days as part of the family. He will truly
be missed. 9/3/03 |

Yogi was a bear like, 5 year old collie mix who was
was found walking down the street with a chain embedded
in his neck. It had been there so long that it had grown
into his skin. He was loaded with heartworms and did not
make it through the treatment.

Casey came into rescue at the age of ten with heartworms
and cancer. He is in a better place now. August 6th, 2002.

Dixie was pulled from the shelter, an owner turn in,
at the young age of two. She came with a golf ball size
growth on her lip and heartworms. After a vet visit the
growth was diagnosed as a fast spreading cancer. There
was no way to cut it out without taking her face and with
the heartworms, putting her under would have been risky
in itself. Had something been done when the growth was
small, the cancer possibly could have been caught. I took
her two hamburgers and a hotdog which she gobbled down
and held her sweet little paw while we said good bye.
I'm sorry girl and we will meet again at the bridge. |
 |
Riley, a one year old tri colored smooth Collie was
pulled from the shelter and in horrible condition. Our
vet did not give up on him and he was adopted in March
2001, by a family that spent most of their time attending
to his medical needs. He is now in a place where he can
breathe, chase bunnies & eat anything he wants without
getting sick. Riley crossed the bridge September 26, 2001. |
 |
Sable was a two year old sable & white female with
natural tippy ears and what a sweet girl. We lost her
due to seizures that started and would not stop, probably
why she was at the shelter. She is at a place where her
body won't shake and she won't wake up wondering why she
has soiled herself anymore. I know my Lilly who passed
the same way will take care of Sable.

Ketchie was an older girl turned into the shelter by
her owners. She had irregular heart abnormalities and
a mass the size of a soccer ball in her stomach. At least
Ketchie's last week was with folks who showed her love
and not at the shelter. She was a great dog and if she
had more time, would have made someone a wonderful pet.
