8/28/10 My name is Dakota, a one year old collie fellow and here is my story.  If we are not purchased as puppies and start to get to old to sell our breeder doesn’t bother to socialize us or teach us anything.  We are put in a pen, fed and pretty much neglected.  She will then put us on Craigs List for free and people flock to get the free collies thinking we will be just like Lassie.  Since we have had no training, never been in a house or around children it usually doesn’t work out.  Heck we don’t even know what love or being petted is and it takes a little time.  Most of these well intended folks will call the rescue and we come where we will receive the training and knowledge we need to be a good family member.  There have been many collies in rescue from this persons breeding making a living selling lives.  No effort required on their part, just put two collies together to make puppies and doesn’t matter if they are healthy. It is all about the dollar.  I am so sorry my mom and dad are still there and this will continue because people keep purchasing the puppies.  Tyson and Cruise are my brothers.

 A very nice gentleman saw the free listing and came to take me home.  He let me come in the house and trained me to potty outside.  He taught me love and how great pets can be.  However when Thomas found out he would need heart surgery he knew he would not be able to care for me and called the rescue.  So my journey continues to find my forever home.  I’m great with the other dogs, love children and cats scare me.

8/28/10 Pleased to me you and my name is Riley.  I’m a smooth collie mix girl, about one year old and 35 pounds.  This is about as big as I’m going to get although I may look larger in the picture because they are taken at eye level.  I was running loose and found a home where two collies lived.  These folks had adopted them from collie rescue so they call them about me.  If you are looking for a well behaved, smart girl then I am the one.  I have mastered sit, down and no jump.  I am also housetrained, crate trained and a great companion.  I love children, get along with the other dogs and cats are ok.  What more could a person ask for in a family member?

8/28/10 The rescue has given me the really cool name of Cruise and I think because I am so swave and deboner (please excuse my spelling).  I am a one year old guy and if I look large in the picture it is because they are taken at our eye level.  I weight about 49 pounds and could stand to gain a few.  One of my humans was put in jail and when he got out the family moved off and left me tied to the tree.  Thank goodness the neighbors called you rescue folks to save me.  I’m a little confused right now with so many events happening so fast however I am adjusting.

8/28/10 Folks, today I got my very own boy and can you tell he loves me already?  So I went home with the Roeloffzen’s to start my new life.  I promise to take very good care of my boy.

8/22/10  Hi folks my new name is Amalia and I am in Collie Rescue because I was picked up by the animal shelter as a stray running loose.  I am a very mild mannered, gentle girl at about four years old.  I had a lot of mats in my hair and the shelter folks cut them out.  My evaluation is in progress.

8/15/10 Hi friends my name is Mazie and I am a 3 year old, smooth coat collie girl.  We are just like the rough coat collies except there are no mats to worry about.  I am a very sweet girl that gets along with the other dogs and like the cats also.  I am housetrained and crate trained.

8/23/10 The Kubla’s came today and took me home.  They already knew I was the one for them and they have adopted from collie rescue before.  I’m on my way to a better life and thank you so much.

8/14/10 Hello folks my name is Cosmo and I am between two and three years old.  A collie/golden mix fellow at about 38 pounds and I am a real love bug once I get to know you.  That only takes about five minutes and since I just arrived from the animal shelter a little confused about what is happening to me.  So far seems like a pretty good place and I do enjoy playing with the collies especially that little Jody.  My evaluation is in progress.

8/13/10 I just came into rescue today and thank you folks for saving me.  I was picked up by the animal shelter as a stray and my people did not come to claim me.  That is probably a good thing since I have never been neutered and have a light case of heartworms that will need to be treated.  My back was so matted it had to be shaved so I kind of look like a lion.  The rescue folks have given me the name Victor since they do not know my original name.  That is fine with me, I am on my way to a new life and a new name seems appropriate. 8/8/10  Hello folks my name is Ramsey, a three year shih tuz / poodle mix fellow. I know you are wondering what I am doing in the collie rescue and they sometimes help out other breeds when they can.  When they were at the shelter picking up a collie they saw me and decided to take me also.  I was there because the shelter picked me up running around as a stray.  That is about all they know about my past and my new life starts today. I probably weight about ten pounds, great on a leash, like to ride in the car and housetrained however I prefer you go outside with me to potty.  I like to play ball yet not to good about bringing it back.  I’m good with the cats and just like to watch them because they are amazing.  I don’t pay much attention to the other dogs either and my attention is always on my human.  If you are looking for a little guy that will absolutely adore you and follow you everywhere I’m your guy.  I just need someone to love.
