Luke (Adopted)

10/19/23:  Kim and Chuck took me home today and have promised I will never be alone again during a thunderstorm.  Sure enough we had our first storm the second night I was here.  They put on my thunder shirt and held me close so I felt safe.  I have a nice, new bed and we go on many walks together which I enjoy.  The cat is my new pal and we get along just great.  I sure am happy to have found this wonderful home.

10/18/23:  I am a 4 year old, slim collie fellow at 45 pounds.  I could stand to gain a few pounds and I believe a lot of treats would help.  I had always lived outside and it has caused me to be afraid of thunderstorms.  Now to make matters worse my people moved near the base where they do all the shooting.  It was making me a nervous wreck so they decided to let me come to the rescue.  We have only had one thunderstorm so far and I did very well with the thundershirt.  I am the sweetest guy you will ever meet and a loving kind of fellow.  I’m fine with the other dogs and don’t mind the cats.  No problem with the housetraining and do not need a crate.

Cillian (Adopted)

10/2/23:  Just look at me headed to Delaware with Laura and her collie Mel.  He was also adopted from the collie rescue in 2012.  Since arriving I have gotten to know my new grandparents and found a spot on the couch for me.  Yep, this is surely the good life.

7/17/23:  It sure is hot outside and I found a great way to cool off after a fun game of fetch.  I also enjoy playing with toys and going for leash walks.

6/15/23:  I am a 5 year old, 70 pound collie fellow.  I was picked up by the shelter as a stray so I came to the rescue to find my new home.  I haven’t had a lot of attention from humans during my years so I am a bit aloof.  The rescue folks are showing me how great it is to be petted and I’m starting to love it.  I’m housetrained, don’t need a crate and pretty good with the other dogs.

Thank you Barbara Minakakis for helping with my medical cost.

Sammy (Adopted)

9/19/23: The Willemain’s have decided to give this old guy a home.  I’m going to live out my days being loved and getting all the pets I could ever want if that is possible.  I have settled in, met all the neighbors and they love me.  Jim and I go for a walk every day and he really enjoys having a walking buddy.  I am so relaxed and content here and even started to play with my stuffed toys. I am so very happy.

8/7/23:  Hello folks, my name is Sammy and I am a senior fellow at 11 years old.  My folks felt like I wasn’t getting enough attention so I came into the rescue to find another home.  I’m a sweet, loving kid of guy that is housetrained and rarely ever bark.  I enjoy going for leisurely walks and good on rides in the car.  I would really like to be the only dog but I don’t mind cats.  I’m in good health and have been well cared for.  I just need someone to love me while I live out my days.

The rescue realizes it is hard to take in a senior and love them as if they be with you forever.  These seniors are suddenly without the home they have always known and need a friend to give them a place to live out their senior years.  The seniors are like puppies without all the bad habits and always doing things to make you laugh.  The rescue will pay for all approved medical cost and all you have to do is love them.  We do still require a fenced yard, vet check and home visit.  Most of the seniors cannot do many steps.
